Counting from a photograph

Count shrimp fry in a tray, day-old chicks, cartons on a pallet — in place of counting a sample and scaling it up, which is where discrepancies at handover usually come from.

We chose counting because you can check the result on the spot: count any area of the image by hand and compare it with what the system says.

Every result can be traced back. Each object is marked on the image itself, and clusters that touch are marked differently. You can see exactly what was counted, and where it went wrong if it did. counted as 1 cluster, several individuals estimated

What we do

Objects overlapping in several layers?

A general configuration does well when objects are separate or barely touching. Several layers of overlap need a model calibrated on images from your own site, together with a workable tray layout and lighting. Send a few real photographs and an engineer will tell you what accuracy is achievable.
